Congratulations to the 55 members of the HFC Safety Council who, collectively, earned $172,207.18 in discounts for their participation in FY08. Participation is defined as:

1. Attend 10 meetings or events between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009. At least eight (8) of the 10 meetings must be safety council meetings. Up to two (2) of the 10 can be BWC approved external education opportunities, but all 10 can be safety council meetings.

2. CEO must attend any one safety council sponsored function or meeting.

3. Submit semi-annual reports for the 2008 calendar year.

Two percent premium discount available to

- Employers meeting above requirements

- Excludes self—insuring employers and state agencies

- Employers must have active coverage and no outstanding BWC balance to qualify.

Your company’s participation status is available by visiting our website, hfcsafetycouncil.com and check on meeting attendance. If you have questions, call Ruth Cutright at the Highland County Chamber, (937) 393-1111.

HFC Safety Council members can earn one (1) external training credit by attending an upcoming seminar sponsored by Hunter Consulting Company and American Safety and Health Management Consultants, Inc.

The four hour seminar, “Improving Profits Through An Effective Safety Program,” is scheduled on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 (Note: This is the same day as our regular HFC Safety Council meeting). You can still take advantage of this opportunity by sending someone else from your company to this seminar at the Cincinnati Holiday Inn at I-275 North. There are two sessions scheduled for your convenience 8:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm - 5:00pm. If you want more information or to register, call  Tammy Purcell at Hunter Consulting, (513) 231-4023, extension 114. Deadline for registration is 12/2/08.

If a representative from your company does attend this seminar, be certain they get a certificate verifying attendance and send it to Ruth Cutright so it will count toward your meeting attendance / participation total.

As we move into the winter months, we know that safety must take a priority on HFC Safety Council meeting days. If the weather is questionable, please check your emails. We will notify you as early as possible if we have to cancel a meeting. Listen to the radio. We will also contact WVNU 97.5 and Buckeye Country 105.5 with any cancellation information.

If a meeting must be cancelled on its regular date, there is a “snow date” scheduled for each of our winter meetings. It is the following Wednesday—same time and place.

Please help us stay in touch and communicate any late breaking weather news by checking your emails from HFC Safety council.
