External training certificates for this year’s discount program must be submitted to the Safety Council by June 30, 2009. it is the employer’s responsibility to submit documentation of external training to the Safety Council.
BWC does not notify safety councils of employer attendance at WCU, Ohio Safety Congress or Division of Safety & Hygiene training courses. Safety Councils are required to submit a list of discount-eligible employer policy numbers to the Division of Safety & Hygiene immediately following the conclusion of the fiscal year.
Please make note of this important date. Attendance credit will not be granted for external training certificates received beyond this date. Please fax a copy of any eligible training certificates to Ruth at the Highland County Chamber (fax, 937-393-9604) prior to June 30, 2009 to receive appropriate attendance credit for HFC Safety Council discount eligibility. If you have questions or need more information, call Ruth at (937) 393-1111.

The HFC Safety Council CEO Event will be Friday, May 15th at the Mahan Building in Washington C.H.. Guest speaker for this event is Brent Gilliland, Ohio BWC, and his topic is “The Culture of Safety”.
Remember, to earn the participation discount, BWC requires the CEO (or highest ranking member of management) attend at least one meeting of HFC Safety Council during the year. It is not required that the CEO be at the May 15th event, but it is a good opportunity for networking with the others in attendance. This event has long been a favorite meeting and very well attended.
Invitations for the CEO event will be mailed to the CEO on record in the HFC Safety Council files. If you have changes, please email Ruth at hfcsafetycouncil@yahoo.com. |

The May 13th optional safety tour of the DOMTAR facility, 1803 Lowes Blvd., Washington Court House, is a great opportunity to see the DOMTAR safety program in action.
This tour will count as HFC Safety Council meeting credit for anyone who participates. Space is limited to the first 20 who register. Please email Ruth at hfcsafetycouncil@yahoo.com to reserve your spot.
Thanks to Tom Shields and his team at DOMTAR for arranging this exciting opportunity for us. |

The June 3rd meeting is open to any prospective business who wants to learn more about the educational programs (and possible financial incentives) that being an HFC Safety Council member can provide. Help us grow and stay strong by recruiting prospective members and bring them to the June 3rd meeting. |
