The lineup of HFC Safety Council meetings and events is designed to give you increased safety education and awareness. Mark your calendars for the following dates and take advantage of these opportunities to learn how to improve your workplace safety:

Wednesday, April 1st - HFC Safety Council “FUN BUS” to Ohio Safety Congress. Complete details of the trip are listed below. Ohio Safety Congress is in Columbus and runs March 31 - April 2. If you choose to attend on your own, be certain to get the proper documentation (print your certificate of attendance) and get it to Ruth so you can receive meeting attendance credit.

Wednesday, April 8th - This will be the regular monthly meeting of HFC Safety Council at Ponderosa Banquet Center in Hillsboro. This is also the Awards Meeting, recognizing members who achieved safety goals throughout 2008. Please note: this meeting is on the second Wednesday due to the Ohio Safety Congress dates.

Wednesday, May 6th - Regular meeting date, Wilmington - location and topic details to

follow.

Wednesday, May 13th - Plant safety tour at DOMTAR, 1803 Lowes Boulevard, Washington C.H., 1:30-2:30p.m. Tom Shields will lead the program that covers specific safety plans that DOMTAR utilizes on a daily basis. This is a great way to see first hand the many safety “tools” that are used in the workplace. Space is limited to the first 20 who reserve a spot.

Friday, May 15th - CEO Event, Washington Country Club, 703 State Rte. 41 SW, Washington C.H. This special event for CEO’s has long been one of the most well attended. Guest speaker will be Brent Gilliland, Safety Consultant speaking about the “Culture of Safety” that companies build and how top management leads that effort. Remember, your company CEO must attend at least one meeting during the FY’09 year to qualify for the participation bonus.

Wednesday, June 3rd - Final meeting of HFC Safety Council for FY’09 at the Mahan Building in Washington C.H. Speaker will be from Ohio BWC and the topic will be “What To Do When OSHA Knocks at Your Door.”
